Objectives

"Make a Difference" was created with the aim to develop the competences of young people in social entrepreneurship and empower their potential to identify problems in their communities, tackle challenges and contribute to the development of society. The needs were identified with the help of the GEM report 2019/ 2020 that says 30% - 60% of young people in EU and Eastern Partnership countries perceive opportunities for being entrepreneurs, but their Established Business Ownership Rate is a maximum of 13%. There is a huge gap between identified and taken opportunities that motivates partners to create a project that helps youth improve their potential. "Make a Difference" was a 9-day-youth-exchange coming after an Advance Planning Visit and aiming to accomplish the following objectives: - To raise the sense of entrepreneurship including social entrepreneurship; - To strengthen young people's sense of initiative in the social field to support their communities; - To put youth initiatives into practice; Sub-objectives of the project were: - To foster transnational cooperation; - To discover new cultures and tolerate each other. The project has been developed by 5 organizations coming from 5 different countries: United Kingdom, Georgia, Romania, Lithuania and Armenia and it was hosted in Chester, United Kingdom. The Youth Exchange mobility was an activity that made participants go outside the comfort zone and improve competencies together with like-minded people. Participants raised knowledge, improved skills and got experience by putting their ideas into practice. They were empowered to be change-makers for their communities and they were supported by their sending organizations to develop personal ideas and make an impact as social entrepreneurs. "Make a Difference" was based on a non-formal education methodology. Participants learnt and experienced discussions, debates, teamwork, brainstorming. They were united with common needs and objectives that increased their team spirit. An international environment was created to encourage the diversity of ideas and it to guide the inclusive social dialogue and promote solidarity. Participants had the opportunity to get to know each others' cultures, traditions, values. In this way, they discovered new cultures and raised a sense of respect and tolerance towards each other.
