Objectives

Through this project, our association aimed to boost youth workers digital skills thought training with special focus on values, concerns and priorities in youth work. The 8-day-lasting seminar "Pop the Social Media Bubble" with different 7 countries Italy, Romania, Greece, Croatia, Latvia, Bulgaria, and United Kingdom and 30 participants involved, was designed to foster quality youth work through supporting accessible and innovative practices to encourage youth workers to understand the social media world and improve their capacity on digital youth work. Its aim was to lay the groundwork for extending and promoting the use of social media and other digital media tools in digital youth work for youth organisations on the recognition and promotion of non‐formal education, volunteerism and youth work aims at empowering civil society. The 8-day-seminar “Pop the social media” targeted NGOs working along the lines, values, and spirit of the Erasmus + programme and empowering them with relevant competences and practical tools in social and strategic marketing, communication, image-building, and PR. This leads to an improvement of the impact, effectiveness, visibility, appreciation, recognition, follow-up, and sustainability of the work of these NGOs and of their Youth projects, and by such of the Erasmus + programme and the encompassed values, approaches and concerns in general. It must be underlined that in this training planning we put a special focus on values, concerns, and priorities in youth work (eg. inclusion, non-formal education, volunteerism, participation, European cooperation), both in terms of the profile of partner organisations and participants, as well as in terms of learning objectives and outcomes to be reached (eg. exchange of related practices, and new projects and campaigns to be developed). Taking into consideration this strong “political” focus, the project will empower the participants and their organisations to strengthen: *The impact, visibility, and recognition of their work in general *The image of the target group(s) they work with *The recognition and appreciation of the values encompassed in their work *The impact, visibility, and recognition of Erasmus +, non-formal education and international youth work Throughout this seminar, participants developed competences in social media, PR and social and strategic marketing, in order to enhance the impact, effectiveness, visibility, appreciation, recognition, follow‐up, and sustainability of the work of these NGOs and of their Erasmus+ projects, and by such of the Erasmus+ programme and encompassed values and approaches such as non-formal education and volunteerism in general. Participants connected with their peers, they shared experiences, develop positive attitudes, and acquired tools and strategies to respond to the challenges of social issues effectively in their day-to-day work. The training was based on the specific needs of the participants and was highly participatory. OBJECTIVES: *To experience new methods which can be transferred to target groups or in personal life. *To explore concepts as digital skill and digital competence background in youth-work practice. *To develop a better understanding about digital youth work approaches, tools, methods and to introduce techniques and digital tools to improve their visibility online. *To share best of practices and showcasing of realities in European youth work and non‐formal education, with a focus on volunteerism, European citizenship, and active participation. *To build up competences (skills, knowledge, and attitudes) of the participants and partner organisations in the areas of: digital framework, social marketing, image building, debating, and persuading, advertisement and promotion, media strategy, working with influencers web 2.0 and videoblogging, campaigning, and public actions *To apply these competences and tools directly to the specific cases of the represented organisations, and to develop respective long‐term strategies and working plans *To assess best practices and common pitfalls from digital youth workspaces. *To explore how youth work can foster the employability among the young people especially through volunteering and active participation in civil society. *To improve and deepen knowledge of participants in the use of non-formal approaches and methods to enhance transversal skills for young people’s digital skills. SUPPORTING AND LATERAL OBJECTIVES *Exploration of the concept of digital competences through youth work and how to ‘become a multiplier’. *Exchange of project ideas, building up future projects and partnerships and exchange of best practices in youth work with a special focus on international cooperation. *) to provide structured space and time for the fostering of new partnerships in the framework of the Erasmus+.
