Objectives

Dance can be defined as a creative tool of learning and development within our communities in order to give people the opportunity to realize their creative potential, so as to improve their social, economic, personal and artistic prospects in art. In these days, in the very “busy world”, culture and tradition are being forgotten. The cultural heritage left from the ancestors, those customs, traditions, attitudes, festivals, and beliefs which are moving from generation to generation is getting to losing its values. With this project, we aimed to create a coherent field in which there is no racism, stereotypes, religious, social and any other discrimination. We decided to include music and dance because these elements foster intercultural understanding among people and get closer to common European values, such as social integration. One of the important goals of this project was to explore the world for non-material cultural heritage from different countries, to learn, love and continue spreading the history from generation to generation. The aims of this project were coherent with the objectives of the Erasmus+ program because it provides participation of foreigners from different nations, without discrimination. Thanks to this project, the participants were able to improve their communication skills in English, increase their own confidence to talk in front of others, improve their social skills thanks to the non-formal education, inspire the other people to take part and have more experience which would help them to form their personalities, spread peace, tolerance, and equality and promote youth mobility at the European level. The priority of the project was to provide access to world cultural values through dances and music and create a positive cultural image of the world’s regions in the world community. The objectives of the project were: - To empower youth using dance and music as tools of social inclusion; - Increasing the recognition of non-formal education as an important skill; - To enhance active citizenship, both on the community and on an international level; - To promote volunteering, international opportunities and European cooperation; - To develop skills and attitudes of pro-activeness and critical thinking; - To contribute to reuniting the differences and discovering the similarities; - To give people the opportunity to realize their creative potential, so as to improve their social, economic, personal and artistic prospects in life; - Develop and strengthen friendly relations and cooperation between people of different countries in the fields of culture and music; - Discover cultural values through different discussions, demonstrations and presentations about the traditions and cultures. The needs of the project were: - Need for communication and knowledge about different folk dances because living in the 21st century is giving to youngsters’ shyness when it’s about dancing folk dance; - Lack of information about youth projects; - Need for promoting culture, and cultural heritage, especial folk art is being forgotten; - Need to promote Erasmus+ in the local community; - Need for promotion of EU values in a country that has a different lifestyle than any other country in the EU; - Promoting active citizenship and inclusion in social life in their communities; - Need of promoting equity and inclusion by facilitating access to participants with fewer opportunities; - Need for intercultural awareness. The project objectives were in perfect harmony with the No Hate Speech, Movement enhancing solidarity, and community, and fostering social inclusion to stand up against prejudices, discrimination, stereotypes and other types of degradation. Furthermore, the activities of this project were linked to the general priorities of Erasmus+ and KA1 – reaching out to marginalized young people through music and dance are promoting culture, traditions, tolerance and equality creating an intercultural field where they shared all these things.
