The initiative and idea of “Workation“ originated from young proactive people who want to intensify the importance of existing unemployment amongst young people. The project encouraged young adults to understand the need to change the unemployment issues in small communities whilst simultaneously becoming globally aware of the challenge of lack of leadership. Young people had an opportunity to understand how the digital age impacts the job market and what alternatives we have to offer to young adults (volunteering, apprenticeship, workstation, etc.). To build the next generation of active citizens, the project used non-formal learning methods and activities in a multicultural context. The objectives of the project “Workation”: -Facilitate the exchange of exploration, experience, and expression of unconventional ideas to increase awareness of the unemployment crisis within a group of 30 young adults -Promote proactive behavior and a sense of initiative of young adults on the global issue -Evaluate how an individual can impact the economic situation with the understanding of the job market - Improve solidarity and intercultural dialogue with the encouragement to find a solution to issues faced by communities in isolated areas -Prepare the group for 7 specific activities: Debates, workshops, city game, the creation of motivational videos, business incubator, study visit, cultural evenings -Strengthen mutual understanding of how young people can work together with a focus on cultural diversity -Involve young people with fewer opportunities (economic, educational, social difficulties, from isolated areas) -Increase the engagement of the active European citizens
