Objectives

The students should gain a closer relationship with the topic of handling food by taking out the planned activities in the project. In this context the quality of raw products, their competent procession and the nutritive meaning of different food is in the focus. Thus a stronger awareness for the relationship between nutrition and human health should be initiated. By taking out a language course, the competencies of students in this field will be improved. They learn made moreoverboth through the accomodation in host families and the offer of a language course in the partner school with native speakers. Experiences from former projects prove the effectiveness of this method. Through the direct contact with families from Valencia intercultural relations will be made moreover. This project should also motivate other teachers of HBLA Ursprung to initiate more projects in this field in order to provide an ample array of possibilites for international experiences.

Background

HBLA Ursprung has undertaken numerous international projects in the past. On the one hand the transmission of task-specific contents was in the focus, on the other hand the awareness of the importance of speaking foreign languages and the tolerance towards other cultures was fostered with these projects. The pandemic brought these projects to a complete stop. Some smaller digital projects together with partners form Norway and Denmark were taken out, but students were missing the direct contacts with companions from other countries. With this application both aspects of internationality should be activated again. Firstly a course in the field of food production and food procession is carried out. Secondly, the foreign language Spanish, will be learned and experienced on site, which will be a boost for the teaching of Spanish at HBLA Ursprung.
