The Erasmus+ KA131 project represents a central measure in the implementation of the internationalisation strategy of FHWien der WKW - University of Applied Sciences. The university's internationalisation strategy is based on three pillars: 1) mobility, 2) cooperation and 3) internationalisation at home. The Erasmus+ programme plays a key role in point 1), cross-border mobility: 70% of student mobility and 80% of teaching staff mobility takes place with the support of Erasmus+. FHWien der WKW clearly acknowledged the importance of international experience when it defined mobility windows in all Bachelor's and Master's programmes (with one exception) in 2018. A mandatory semester abroad was included in the curriculum for all full-time students in Bachelor's programmes from 2018 onwards. The resulting quantitative increase in studies and internships abroad was achieved with the help of the Erasmus+ programme. The wide range of Erasmus+ partner universities and the Erasmus+ grant for students are key factors here. In line with the strategy, the project also promoted staff mobility and further networking with universities in Erasmus + programme countries.
