The Erasmus+ 131 Project 2021 was seen by Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) as an important tool to achieve the goals from the Institutional Development Plan. The international experience of staff and students was considered to be a crucial part in the personal development and therefore CUAS wanted to continue supporting those interested in gathering international experience through exchange. Moreover, CUAS was also interested in developing other forms of internationalisation within curricula (such as Blended Intensive Programs - BIPs) and used the project budget to start pilot projects in this area. Central discussion about introducing welcome culture as well as the need for more language trainings and intercultural courses for students and staff as support for their integration into the local community took place already before pandemic. In order to further develop all those issues at CUAS it was planned to use the interaction with incoming students from the project as well as examples of good practice brought through staff mobilities.
