The University of Vienna sees internationalisation as an essential profile-building tool, the cornerstones of its strategic internationalisation are an integral part of its development plan. The implementation of the Erasmus+ KA131 project contributes greatly to the university’s internationalisation strategy. Academic stays abroad by students, but also the appointment of professors from abroad, are important instruments for expanding and enriching research perspectives and teaching content. The Erasmus+ programme represents a central instrument in the field of student and teacher mobility, which facilitates stays at one of the numerous partner universities inside and outside the EU. On an individual level, the university aims to provide opportunities to students, staff and researchers to gather international experience, expand their European networks and acquire new skills. As an aftermath of Covid-19, in the 2021 project, the university has specifically focused on student mobility. As an outcome of joining the European University Alliance Circle U., the university will give special consideration to enhance mobility within the alliance and it will become a particular focus of attention in the years to come.
