Objectives

The University of Applied Arts Vienna takes on the challenge of positively influencing art, research and society, facing global challenges. It continuously shapes and directs the present toward the future. These complex challenges ahead require cooperative, international and multi-faceted approaches. Teachers and researchers, students, alumni, employees and partners unite as a collective that takes a stand for an open society, applying artistic and scientific competences as the key to furthering that goal: We invent new forms of work, education, art and science. The Angewandte lives internationality as an integral part of university life, meaning that it is not regarded as an additional field of work, but rather as part of all activities and measures. This includes connecting networks of expertise involved with international composite projects, or high level of competence of international discourses in art and science as well as internationally-mixed student and teacher groups. All exchange programs offered ensure that the level of education, work and research are in line with other internationally well-known universities through a steadily contribution to openness, actively fostering innovation and anticipating future challenges.
