Our application for this project was motivated by the urgent need to support climate-active citizens in developing resilience, particularly activists with limited opportunities, like grassroots (and rural) activists, and activists with limited finances. These individuals often grapple with mental health challenges like burnout and climate anxiety, compounded by socio-economic constraints and those in rural places, with the demands of rural organizing. The project was designed to offer high-quality, accessible education in resilience, regeneration, and adaptation, tailored to the unique experiences of grassroots (and rural) activism. Our aim was to equip these activists with life skills and competencies vital for effective change-making in times of global environmental and social challenges.
