Background

The decision to apply for the CRYPTOPOLIS project was driven by the urgent need to address the lack of financial and cryptocurrency literacy among youth, capitalize on country-specific trends, leverage expertise, and align with EU priorities—all aimed at empowering young individuals with essential skills for navigating the digital economy responsibly. The needs we have addressed were the following: 1. Education gap identification: The latest survey revealed a need to update school curricula to include financial literacy, particularly in cryptocurrencies. 2. Cryptocurrency's growing importance: Despite their increasing relevance, youth lack literacy in cryptocurrencies, posing risks. 3. Mitigating risks for young investors: The project targets secondary schools to address vulnerability to high-risk investments. 4. Country-Specific considerations: Partner countries were chosen based on specific trends, such as Austria and Spain's interest in cryptocurrencies among young people. 5. Expertise and collaboration: Partnerships with institutions like UNI Murcia and universities provide expertise and foster knowledge exchange. 6. EU alignment: CRYPTOPOLIS aligns with EU agendas by enhancing financial and cryptocurrency literacy in schools
