The project aims to establish a uniform, standardised framework for the skills of C 95 trainers in order to harmonise the requirements for their work in all EU member states. The implementation promises a significantly higher quality of C 95 training through online training modules, which will enable a broader trainer base to receive further professional and pedagogical-didactic training. The increased training quality will lead to greater acceptance of the need for this training among professional drivers and companies in the transport sector. The planned online examination platform will enable the certification of C 95 trainers, thereby defining quality standards in the member states. The project implementation expands the expertise of C95 trainers in the use of ICT tools in training courses.
EU Dir2018/645 stipulates that professional drivers over 3.5 tonnes must complete 35 hours of mandatory training every five years. This training is carried out by accredited trainers whose qualifications are determined by general quality factors in accordance with the directive. In practice, the entry requirements and training requirements for trainers vary considerably between EU Member States. Previous projects have highlighted significant shortcomings in the didactic-pedagogical skills of currently active trainers without developing solutions. The pandemic has also made it clear that trainers are inadequately prepared for the use of digital training tools. There is also a need for training content on green thinking and "digitalisation", which have so far been neglected in C 95 training courses. This results in the following five areas of need: Recording the required competences of C 95 trainers from a company and training institution perspective.
