Objectives

The main objective of the Burnout Coaching project was: - to improve the competences of adult trainers through coaching, mentoring and training; - to develop in young adults and adult learners’ self-awareness and resilience skills towards the probability of burnout in professional life; - trainers from our organizations as well as the target group of adult educators to have a reliable and accessible go-to source when facing a burnout spectrum problem while working with individuals or with groups. The ultimate aim of the project was to equip the target group - trainers, with contemporary, relevant skills, knowledge and attitudes to design, organize, deliver and assess training to adult learners with focus and care on preventing burnout, and to make the feel more aware on the sigs of burnout so they can design trainings that contribute to the wellbeing and productivity of their learners and audiences.

Background

The Burnout Coaching project’s general objective was and still is to improve the competences of adult trainers through coaching, mentoring and training to develop in young adults and adult learners’ self-awareness and clarity, to decrease probability of burnout in professional life and equip them with instruments to flourish acquiring conscious leadership mindset, manifesting purpose, grit and contribution to the developments of others and self. In order to achieve our objectives, we have structured our project activities around the elaboration of a handbook - Manual for Adult Trainers, a target audience which the partnership also represents. By participating in the project we aimed to improve our own competencies as trainers and adult educators, but also those of a wider target audience - the adult trainer participants in the elaboration process; the developed project result proved to match their concrete needs. In order to test the Handbook for Adult Trainers, we organised focus groups in each participating country, Belgium and Bulgaria. Following the adaptation of the Manual, once it was finalised, we organized online training of adult trainers as our piloting of the project result.
