Through these activities, we hope to : - develop exchanges and cooperation between schools to encourage the personal development of learners and their social and linguistic - skills, while integrating the concepts of European citizenship and multiculturalism; - practise languages by exchanging cultural activities with European partners; - provide a better understanding of Europe, and develop curiosity about different cultures; - reduce the disparities in learning achievements that affect learners. - strengthen humanist culture and contribute to the development of European citizenship.
The partner schools reflected on the current issues facing teachers and learners in order to explore the needs and gaps in the education and training process. They found that young people do not have a clear idea of today's Europe. They are unfamiliar with the culture, heritage and values of EU member countries. Not knowing about others makes young people afraid and intolerant of differences. The health situation and the pandemic have exacerbated these problems. The project brings together 4 European countries: Lithuania, Italy, Belgium and France caught our attention because it enabled the pupils to see Europe in a different light: - it's not limited to a capital city or tourist spots - it goes beyond border countries - it has its own culture and traditions - it is culturally diverse and different - it aspires to live peacefully and respect each other's cultures Our needs were on different levels: boosting a humanist culture, awakening the curiosity of young teenagers, real encounters away from the screen and false identities.
