Objectives

In summary, our pupils would not only gain an entrepreneurial mindset but they would also increase their self esteem, become more self confident, develop a positive attitude towards their international peers and become aware of their role in an inclusive European society. With this short-term project we fully took into account the different priorities drawn up by the European Commission: 1. A high rate of participants with fewer opportunities participated. 2. Participants enhanced their digital skills not only by using the twinspace as means of communication and collaboration but also by using other digital tools that increase (digital) cooperation (eg; Google classroom) and communication to their peers, educators and stakeholders. Participants were be prepared to become an active membership of the digital era. 3. We incorporated the use of sustainable solutions to overcome current needs during the first phase of our entrepreneurial approach. 4. Pupils developed their social and interculturall competences by getting to know their peers.

Background

GO! Atheneum De Ring only offers general or theory based education. We prepare our pupils for higher education on a master or bachelor level. About 15% of the total amount of pupils follows Economics" as a major subject. During this courses we spend about 25% of our time (1 hour each week) on teaching entrepreneurship. Since 2010 we are running mini-companies at our school and became a member of Vlajo (part of JA YE Europe). Pupils participating in the mini-companies are in their last two years of school education and between 15 and 18 years old. We participate in many competitions and our mini-companies are awarded as best selling mini-company. Every school year our mini-companies participate in several trade fairs. In 2016 we were awarded as ambassador of being an entrepreneurial school by Vlajo. As teachers, we sensed that our pupils acted below their expectations in the field of coming up with innovative ideas with sustainable but realistic solutions for today's people needs. By participating in YES! (Yielding Entrepreneurial Skills!) pupils had to find solutions to real problems while adding a European dimension by working cooperatively with another European school. YES, we can!
