Howest wanted to use the project funding to reboost the post-covid outgoing long-term student and staff mobility. Furthermore, Howest intended to make extensive use of the new Short-term Blended Mobility and Blended Intensive Programme funding options to launch these short-term mobility formats in our university of applied sciences. Thanks to the possibility of using remaining funds from the Erasmus project KA103-2020 (covid period) for standard SMS/SMT/STA/STT in the first year of project 2021, we planned to orient a significant share of the student & staff funding towards short-term student mobility, which enabled us to mobilise the study departments. Moreover, and thanks to the new International Credit Mobility possibilities, Howest wanted to further increase its number of students and teaching staff undertaking study, teaching or training at its intercontinental partner universities or going on a traineeship to an industrialised country outside the Erasmus zone. Howest bachelor programmes wanted to co-ordinate and organise ten Blended Intensive Programmes. We aimed at a proportional share of fewer opportunities students, maximal satisfaction in participants’ feedback and increased green travel (conscience) and digitalisation.
