As the AHS is the only university in the German-speaking region of Belgium and naturally has limited internship opportunities, the opportunity to work in co-operation with Erasmus+ is very important and interesting.In the Department of Health and Nursing Sciences (GKW), the aim is for students to supplement and deepen the practical experience they have gained at AHS and in local hospitals during their studies by studying abroad. During their stay abroad in Europe during the 6th semester, students should become familiar with nursing systems, nursing techniques and nursing work on wards that do not exist within the DG. Students should gain experience in larger hospitals with specific clinical pictures or forms of therapy that are aimed at special groups and enjoy greater attention due to the population density in large cities. - In the subject area of Education Sciences (BW), students should acquire knowledge during a stay abroad for study and internship purposes that they do not receive at the AHS. - As far as lecturer mobility is concerned, staff from both departments should continue to be involved in European educational programs through their participation in further training, seminars, workshops.
