Objectives

Our main objectives are LEARN, EXPLORE, EMPOWER and INCLUDE. We have already achieved several things in various areas. The team members and youth workers of the organization were given the opportunity to become acquainted with new museums in Denmark and to learn about new methodologies with other target groups in order to gain inspiration for future projects. We gave 70 young people (of which 42 with fewer opportunities) and 10 accompanying persons the opportunity to experience one or more European exchanges, get to know new cultures and also make new friends. All this with an eye and focus on inclusion in various areas. We gave them responsibilities to support the program and to let them organize and lead activities (tailored to the participants), of course with the necessary support an where it is ok to fail or test things. Of course we have to look at this in the long term to what extent this will determine their lives, but for the young people this immediately gave a boost of self-confidence. “I can do this”, “I have pushed my limits”, are sentences that are discussed several times. The safety we offered to the participants, by providing extra accompanying persons, also ensured that this went smoothly. There was space and place to organize their thoughts and talk when in doubt. For this project we worked with 4 new partners who had no experience in exchanges and projects with Erasmus+. The 2 partners with whom we have done an exchange together (Icelandic and Greenlandic) are super enthusiastic and highly motivated to set up new projects in the future. We have already set up a project with them for the coming year (2 separate projects). The local partner Briek is also motivated to set up projects via Erasmus+ in the future and we are certainly open to guiding and supporting them in this. The partners during the mobility for youth workers already had experience with Erasmus+ in some areas, but we were able to inspire them to host an ESC volunteer in the future. This was completely new to them. They can also count on us for help with this if desired. With the 4th goal “INCLUDE” there is still the most work in the sense that we want to see even more diversity in our organization. The mobility for youth workers has already given us a lot of inspiration for new target groups and how to receive them, but we have to develop this even further. Due to an unexpected move and a KA2 project on Inclusive and Accessible Museums that has absorbed the activities more, there has been less time to develop new things for new target groups, but we hope to be able to complete this in the coming year (e.g. local projects about mental health and art, trans art, loneliness, but also trying to involve more newcomers locally and in international projects). On the other hand, we already see a lot of inclusion in our activities, e.g. more participants with fewer opportunities in our youth activities. And also the inclusive exchanges between young people with different backgrounds (with and without disabilities) but with the same love for theater had a nice effect on the inclusiveness we want to achieve and where we want to inspire people/organizations to do the same. Due to the locations, the exchanges could not take place in a sustainable way (everyone had to travel by plane), but sustainability was an important issue during the exchanges. In Greenland, e.g. there is no waste policy and a lot of waste can be found on public roads and in nature. The young people organised workshops in which waste was first collected in the village where the exchange took place and then used it creatively. The created works were exhibited in the local museum. In addition, it gave local young people a boost and inspiration to reflect on the waste problem and do something about it. This is currently being discussed in the community.
