Between 3 and 10 september 2020 we’ve organised a successful project called “Inner Leadership”, about the empowering process of making changes in our lives and take responsibility over the choices we make. The participants and the organisations were satisfied about the learning process, as well as satisfied about the accommodation and the high quality serves of the staff. That gave us the inspiration to organise a new TC that would anticipate in the current societal circumstances: since 2020 everything is different than it used to be. These differences have an enormous impact on the life of the young people in Europe. The crisis of 2020 learned us that there are limits to our society wherein everything seemed to be possible in the previous decades. Because of this modification we’re convinced that we need to readjust the stimulation of inclusion, employability and the flexibility of our youngsters. How can we continue - from now on? We are conscience of new impulses in our life and those stimulus require our adaptation. What are the new needs for our young persons in our communities – from now on? In this TC we have tried to stimulate the involvement and inclusion to a stronger empowerment. That's why we wanted to adapt our project to the new needs since the crisis. That's why we focused on getting out of the comfort zone. We believed that in particular young persons have to stretch their comfort zone in the next years: mentally and by making actions. We also focused more on resilience, which is required if you want to stretch your comfort zone and feel more empowered to survive in uncertain times. And we also wanted to create an awareness of what's needed now we are in a situation without any precedence. How can we be more empowered from now on? How can we make our personal transition in a constantly changing world more suitable? This transition is focused on 3 elements in particularly : 1. economically : How to find a job or finding substantial education to continue into a substantial job ? Certainly regarding the growth of the unemployment in the next months, years. This topic is also one of the priorities of the Erasmus+ program. More and more it's up to the future employees to take initiatives to create possibilities and be pro-active to be employed. Two things are needed: being creative and having confidence. Two steps to achieve them: develop your unique personal talent and develop a mental healthy lifestyle. These two go hand-in-hand. The economy and society are waiting for: flexible and creative people who are willing to take action and inspire others. 2. mentally, high spirit: Not ignore the heaviness in life, but dealing with this heaviness by having patience, resilience, get to know yourself and staying close to your inner core. That means relying on yourself and making conscious decisions based on your own feelings and thoughts. We believe that gaining a deeper understanding of ‘who we are’ is an empowering process which can lead to positive healthy life changes, in particular by focusing on developing your talents and mental health. 3. inclusion (joining us, movement against the distance) : How can we incorporate every young person now we are more than ever before cut from persons close to us, even from our community, school and family. We can’t change the health situation, but we can stimulate inclusion by giving young persons tools to discover their identity and also empower them. Our main aim was: Youth workers to learn themselves better and this self-knowledge will serve them in helping better the youth they work with in developing their unique talents and finally seeking for a better future (job, mental health and social inclusion). The youth workers are in an obvious position to directly apply their gained knowledge to their work with young people after this TC. Objectives: -To support youth workers to become more aware of themselves, thus to enable them to make conscious choices and decisions that fit with the core of their identity and their goals in life. -To frame a learning process where youth workers can fill in their own future story concerning unexpected changes in their life. -To look how you can rely on ambiguity and powerless feelings and deal constructively with them (resilience) by exploring the effect of stretching the comfort zone. -To provide youth workers with tools to support a deep connection with young persons they work with through a similar process. -To make a clear transition from the learning process in the TC to the daily reality back home after the TC. -To reflect on their own learning process by using the Key Competences from the Youth Pass and give the opportunity for capacity building and future projects in the context of the Erasmus+ Program. This TC was based on non-formal and informal education with a self-directed learning approach.
