Objectives

The Pandemic, with its lockdown and distance among individuals challenged all of us, youth especially, on the psychological level and we saw the impact on mental health with increasing rates of anxiety, depression, mental diseases. Young people were severely hit by this, and they had to stop doing what was natural for them in their development process. Our project aimed to empower the inner potentialities and strengths of the participants through a path in 4 steps based on an inner journey through self-awareness, confrontation, self-acceptance and integration. It was done through many methods, especially nature-based, and on exercises on self-care, positive inner dialogue, awareness on traits of personality and own shadows, acceptance and self-compassion, healthy communication, evaluation steps. The inner journey, which was a journey to self-discovery and empowerment, aimed to give motivation and new tools for the personal and professional life, and created a solid ground to support the youth we work with and to pass the tools into the organisations to empower these after times of pandemic, doubts and demotivation. The contact with Nature and the “journey frame” was the elements characterizing the project. The Confrontation phase was a 2 day-outdoor in the forest after trekking, with total contact with Nature, in order to make participants face their shadows and embrace these ones. Participants have been guided on a journey to discover themselves by reconnecting with Nature, to express open and creatively, and by being invited to get out of their comfort zone to embrace Nature and being outdoors as a way to grow. OBJECTIVES 1. Empower Youth workers providing them with psychological and holistic approaches and methods towards the topic of self awareness and discovery of hidden inner potentialities and strengthen mental health to support young people facing mental health challenges; 2. Get a deeper understanding on the concept of mental health and inner resources of empowerment and self-empowerment through Nature-based approaches and emotional steps; 3. Enhance participants self-care and empathy to let them embrace care and empathy towards themselves as a healing step of the path, and being able to understand and support young people with problematic backgrounds and relational diseases (anxiety, depression, demotivation,..) 4. Improve youth work quality providing the participants with space to reflect on their role of emotional youth support, and constructively reflect upon their own previous personal and professional experiences of crisis, burnout and demotivation on their work and role; 5. Strengthen participants’ and organisations’ competences and capabilities in youth work with international dimensions and cooperation; 6. Enhance non-formal education methods and the recognition of NFE learning (website).
