Objectives

1) Increase the visibility, resilience and sustainability of young people involved in the creative and cultural sector on medium and long term, based upon a ‘joint venture’ between youth and culture. 2) Serve as a concrete ‘guide’ and ‘orienting tool’ for young people to engage themselves in the cultural sector, to explore interests and get inspired. 3) To increase the participation, accessibility, discovery and engagement in their communities. 4) Increase accessibility and visibility towards different communities, including minorities and (young) people with fewer opportunities. 5) Enabling the networking of self-contained artists and organizations dealing with art and culture, creating an effective platform for long-term collaborations.

Background

Let’s go back in time. March 2020. Suddenly life stops. Technology arises. The artistic and cultural world start a fight to survive, finding new platforms. March 2020. Suddenly life stops. Schools close their doors. Open air spaces are forbidden. No play and no game make youngsters a dull… wait. Not actually dull, but their incarcerated in their own homes and centers where their opportunities to express themselves in an artistic way are no longer available. May 2021. Four European countries, Portugal, Belgium, Croatia and Spain, start to think that social networks are all around us. They are scared. They think youth, art and culture are going to split up for ever. Both sectors express the urgent need for a creative intervention. Until they think how to get benefits from the social networks. Why not building up an app that links youth, art an culture? Yes! Let’s make our weakness our most valuable strength. March 2023. Life is at full speed mode. Everything went back to the way it was. And finally, the YOUcreaTH app is working. Young people can meet and find (firstly in the digital world of course) their artists. Young artists can show their work to other artists and art lovers. The number of users is increasing day by day.
