Background

Stefan Zahariev School has been founded 173 years ago and is the first public school in our town. There are 80 students / taught on regular basis or individually/ and 14,5 people teaching and non-teaching staff. All basic school subjects are being taught in the school. The teachers and students are involved and work on 11 National programmes and 2 Erasmus+ projects, that aims to ensure European Added Value to educational process. Our school is the first one to accept gypsy students and start the integration of minorities without good preparation for the process that caused various problems and set new, different educational needs. Our students, due to different reasons: cultural, social, economical, are not motivated to learn. They don’t get any support or control from their families. Realising that this process must involve all parties/ teachers, students, parents/ we elaborated a School Development strategy. This project continues our effort to provide quality education through enhancing teachers’ professional and personal competences and involving parents in school life.
