Our school team tries to make the school modern and introduce innovative methods of work. The crisis caused by the spread of COVID-19 has completely changed the educational process in our school. In order to achieve its goals, the team needed to expand its horizons, contacts and touch to good educational practices from European countries that are considered to be advanced in the field of education. The main goals we set were: Goal 1: Increase competencies to build an inclusive environment by creating a strong relationship and interaction between teachers and parents. Goal 2: Effective management of the school and adopting good models and practices from European countries that have proven to be successful in the field of education. Goal 3: Developing and upgrading the digital skills of teachers. Goal 4: Increasing the competences and teaching skills of STEM and STEAM.
Sports School in Sandanski was opened in 2011. Our students continuously achieve success in all kinds of competitions . They perform excellently and worthily defend the name of the school at municipal, regional, national and international competitions, contests and exhibitions. There are some methodical associations working in a planned and purposeful way. There is also a coordination board t o deal with aggression in communication and overcome difficulties and it has its own mechanism for overcoming conflicts. There is an internal system for ensuring the quality of education and training, a school program has been developed for the prevention of early school leaving and there is a school program for providing equal opportunities to students from vulnerable groups. Teachers use ICT in their teaching. The students in the school are mainly of Bulgarian origin, but there are children of Roma origin too. Students from 5th to 12th grades train six kinds of sports: football, wrestling, judo, sambo, karate and swimming.
