The aim of this project was to reward the knowledge and skills of our staff.Through open doors & guest lessons the newly acquired teaching practices of blended learning were demonstrated.Alongside the traditional methods of teaching, the trained teachers were able to include the digital resources they were acquainted with during the courses.They prepared presentations and lesson plans applying the new knowledge and practices acquired during the two courses both in middle and high school.We came up with ideas about real STEM projects and implemented activities regarding lifelong learning.Thus using the holistic approach to teaching we managed to achieve interdisciplinary connections using the new teaching/learning design and using STEM methods of teaching.Through the application of different digital skills we succeeded in developing new social skills: both students and teachers learned to take decisions while working in a team in order to face the various challenges with regard to global problems and cases.Thanks to this project we managed to prevent the drop-out of students at risk through attracting their attention with online digital lessons, PBL and hands-on training.Teachers and students too were able to develop key skills
In the context of our project we combined two training courses involving two topics of great interest for our school. Seven teachers attended the courses. Afterwards they trained the rest of the teachers, motivating them to employ different methods of teaching and innovative approaches. 19 High school “Elin Pelin” is an innovative one with 90 years of history. We successfully integrate traditional methods of teaching with the newly acquired knowledge and approaches in distance as well as blended teaching and learning. For a long time our school has been trying to apply innovative methods of teaching especially the ones that best fit our specialisation, namely entrepreneurship and business with intensive learning of English, German, Norwegian and Danish. The creation of our own STEM Centre is underway. Our goal is to boost our students’ motivation. to prepare them for future challenges through developing their potential. The choice of courses was determined by our desire to apply effective practices with new digital instruments in the teaching process, so that we can accomplish our mission and prepare successful young people.
