The main project goal was our school to integrate the European values in education, to offer new approaches in teaching, to maintain the students’ academic interests and increase their achievements. As an innovative school, we felt the need to break the traditional teaching routine by introducing new technologies in lessons, promote interactive learning, team work and game approach, project based learning. We wanted to motivate teachers to be bolder in the use of digital tools, not to be afraid to use games in their lessons, to improve their language skills and to integrate ecology and science into the educational process. It was important for us to find the key to building social competences and a common culture among students, a tolerant and positive model of communication with peers, family, nature. We realized that education these days is primarily focused at acquiring theoretical knowledge. Through the project activities we wanted to achieve practical application of learning, to encourage teamwork and cooperation, multiplication and internationalization.
Angel Kanchev Third Secondary School is one of the innovative schools in which students demonstrate creativity and desire to improve their knowledge in various subjects. Our mission is to improve the quality of education in a modern school environment, to maximize creativity and interests, to build a new type of thinking and effective communication with the citizens of modern Europe, to integrate successfully students and teachers into the European community. As a result of the pandemic, technology invaded the educational process at a rapid pace and our teachers faced the need not only to rely on technological resources in their everyday work, but also to build the necessary skills to work with the various digital tools, to improve their methods of teaching, to motivate each student to learn, to encourage cooperation and communication. This is where the trainings financed by the Erasmus program came to the rescue. As a result of them we achieved a change in educational communication with today's children. Teachers mastered the toolkit how to practically apply the knowledge, to foster creativity and critical thinking, to build cross-curricular connections and successfully integrate digital technologies and natural sciences.
