Objectives

The main focus is to raise the awareness of teachers in the field of Cyber Security and Cyber Bullying in the secondary vocational school. In doing so, they will be expanding their knowledge of how to avoid becoming a victim of some form of cybercrime or cyberattack, intentionally or accidentally. Teachers receive information on measures to protect the information systems they use, methods to protect against unauthorized access, attacks and harm. The learning process/particularly distance learning and e-learning/ should be made safer and more comfortable for both teachers and students. Educators will pass on skills and experience to students so that they live in a safer and more relaxed digital environment. In addition, the learning content should be transformed into a suitable digital environment, with strict adherence to cyber security and cyber protection measures.

Background

Vocational high school of telecommunications is a school that offers education based on innovative methods in the learning process, including implementing ICT in the day to day educator work. In the dynamic and fast developing world of digitalization, cyber security takes larger and more important part in our life. The pandemic served as a catalyzer of digitalization in our daily lives as communication between humans went on mostly online and thus cyber bullying became an even larger issue at hand. From here stems the need for a vast knowledge of educator staff regarding the threats in the online sphere, to ensure their competence regarding the factors that would suggest a student is at risk from cyber bullying or the student themselves becoming a virtual aggressor and what could the consequences be. For us as educators is important to not only ensure the physical well being of students while they are at school but also to protect them from the threats that the online sphere can offer.
