The main objective of the project was to increase the capacity of librarians, archivists, collectors and library managers in the field of prioritizing items for digitization and attractive presentation of digital artefacts by creating appropriate training materials and training tools for target groups as well as training future trainers to ensure sustainability and reproducibility of results. One of the main objectives was to systematize, integrate and disseminate modern practices, not only among small libraries, but also among vocational education and training institutions as a means of renewing working methods and resources for educators and learners. The project provided online VET resources for the LMS with training materials. This project facilitates access to further training and qualifications through continuous VET (C-VET). Digitized learning content implemented in the LMS, digital training films and self-learning resources enable the target group to obtaining additional professional skills. The developed LMS enables the promotion of on-the-job learning or distance learning by providing an efficient and integrated service. The resources are available online for free use and for self-study: https://digiprior.eu
The huge amount of written heritage needs some priorities for digitization. Some elements need digitization due to destruction processes, others due to rarity, and still others due to the high demand for reading, etc. The time contains and limited budgets make the situation dramatic and the managers, librarians and archivists have to decide on priorities. There is also another problem, sometimes digitization is applied to items that are not important at all or could wait for later conversion. In middle or small organization, in many situations, there is no enough capacity for such decisions. The project addresses the lack of C-VET training materials in how to prioritize the written heritage artefacts for digitization and how to share the digitized content attractively in the net. The project addresses the needs of significant number of librarians and archivists for additional qualifications, especially in digital data and their maintenance. Through the project, we have created resources that are available online and free of charge and are designed to be suitable for self-study. The project outputs and learning products use digital tools and content, transforming VET, and in this way we responded to the needs of the sector.
