Background

Occupational safety and health (OSH) measure for SMEs is often highlighted as an issue of great priority in the EC Strategic Framework on Health and Safety at Work 2014-2020. Particular attention has been given to the lack of relevant expertise from the part of SMEs employers in successfully managing their labor activities and environment. Growth and sustainability for SMEs can only be achieved through raising proper awareness concerning labor rights, relevant restrictions, and recommendations and it is in both employers' and employees’ mutual concern to remain consistent with that goal In close correspondence with the EU’s demand to improve existing health and safety rules, the project stressed the importance of OSH as applied in SMEs by improving the communication and applicability of relevant safety measures both for employers and employees. The project addressed the critical need for enhanced occupational health and safety in green work environments, particularly in the context of climate change. Recognizing the increasing importance of sustainable practices and the unique risks they present, the project aimed to equip professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate these challenges safely.
