Background

In today's rapidly changing world, various factors such as deepening crises, new technologies, globalization, and an aging population significantly impact the types of jobs available and the skills required. Vocational Education and Training (VET) plays a crucial role, with approximately half of the EU population acquiring their initial job skills through VET programs. Traditionally, VET was predominantly conducted within schools or craft workshops, primarily focusing on skilled workers for crafts and industries. However, modern VET has evolved to encompass diverse forms of education, providing qualifications for various sectors, with services and IT being the most popular. It now incorporates a combination of general education and vocational training. The emphasis in VET development is on preparing employees to meet the todays challenges. Recognizing the need to address the challenges in VET, the MOOC4ALL project aimed to develop a flexible and innovative social learning model (SMOL). The model enables successful learning and course completion in an online environment through the use of digital technologies. We devekop a model of 3 stages and 12 steps, translated in 6 languages and tested and researched in the partner countries.
