D-VET project is an outcome of the joint efforts of 6 partners from 5 EU countries – 3 VET providers and 3 VET schools. Applying for the project was primarily motivated by the urgent needs and challenges imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic on the VET sector. The pandemic led to a substantial shift in how education is delivered, with a sudden transition to online and distance learning. This shift revealed three critical areas of concern: technological challenges, pedagogical adjustments, and the need for a new approach to student learning. The project was especially relevant for VET, where the integration of technology in teaching is not just a temporary need but a fundamental shift. Given the practical nature of vocational subjects and the specific challenges in the VET sector, VET educators required significant upskilling and reskilling. This project aimed to address the lag in technology integration in education in partners countries, focusing on providing VET educators with the necessary digital competencies. It also sought to align with the European Commission's recommendation for continuous professional development for educators, preparing them for the structural changes in educational systems, particularly in VET.
