The needs and challenges our school faces are summarized around 2 strategic axes, which act independently but also interact. (1) Inclusion of all students in the learning process, but also diversity, with an emphasis on the management of delinquent behaviors, as well as bullying. Included here are issues around multiculturalism/education.The fact that year after year the population of immigrants/refugees, mainly economic immigrants, increases in our School, the need for training becomes imperative. The goal is to realize the limits of each of us, to understand other ways of interpreting the world, to reduce xenophobia and racism, to create a culture for harmonious coexistence.
The School is a public educational institution that aims to create and ensure the necessary educational opportunities for all children regardless of age, gender, family, social status, intellectual abilities. It has been participating in School and Social Integration Actions for 7 years, aiming to continue, expand, improve the operation of the institution of Priority Educational Zones and the project "Program against Early School Leaving, School Failure and Delinquency in Priority Educational Zones" , in order to contribute to mitigating the negative consequences of the financial crisis on education and students.The School is called upon every day to face challenges related to the smooth integration of immigrant/refugee students into the Cypriot education system. Due to the continuous increase in the number of incoming students, 85% of students are children with an immigrant background, the development and implementation of coordinated intervention measures is deemed more necessary than ever. These will promote their smooth integration, in order to ensure quality and effective education, dealing with the progressively increasing individualism in an organized and methodical way.
