In the context of upgrading the level of education, the school has implemented a system of training needs identification, which has shown that it is appropriate to develop programs aimed at strengthening/developing the professional skills of engineers abroad, to get to know the real working conditions, to connect their knowledge with the labor market, to acquire new knowledge, data and information in the field of modern vehicle engineering and in particular, in the installation, control and maintenance of vehicles.
Our school had submitted this proposal in order to meet the needs that have been created and primarily concerned the provision of modern technical education to students and the connection of theoretical knowledge with the practical application in the subject of their specialization. It is obvious that, for the vehicle engineering specialisations we have, laboratory practice in modern facilities is far from adequate. Another important emerging need is the communication and interconnection of our faculty with vehicle manufacturing companies, dynamic start-ups in the sector and the European labour market. Since the automotive industry is non-existent in Cyprus we had the opportunity through the mobility programme to get in touch with the modern technological infrastructure of one of the most industrially developed countries in Europe, to follow the process of research, development and production of vehicles. We managed to broaden our horizons as a school as a whole, both in terms of scientific, professional and personal development.
