Within a fast paced world most of us tend to restrict ourselves to the use of solely verbal language communication through the advanced digital tools used for professional interaction. As adults we lose touch with our inner child since the more we grow up the more we are limiting our means of expression and communication. Most of the time, language skills are given more importance than other communications means. As children we used to achieve effective communication regardless of the verbal language barriers. Creative non-verbal and playful communication seems like a skill people are losing along the way of growing up. Creative communication is no longer a skill we look to develop as adults the same way we used to as children through play. This training course promotes creative communication by using treasure hunting games as a creative tool to develop alternative communication means. Miscommunication, conflict, and disagreements, also violent acts are many times the result of communication gaps, lack of understanding, lack of sufficient and effective expression of oneself and wrongful transmission of messages, needs, and meanings. In this training course, Treasure Hunting Games were used to develop necessary skills to raise the quality of communication between adults by using gamification and play as a tool. We used to naturally explore these methods as children. We achieved our goal in returning to a more natural way of connecting with each other through this training course. This project was developed by adults working with young people (ranging levels of experience and sectors) and partner organizations. We fulfiled the following main objectives: - Addressed the needs for alternative learning tools in the field of youth work, for youth workers and partner organizations - Developed Communication skills, creativity, innovation and promotion of active participation in youth work - Raised youth work quality through innovative methods and tools - Produced a treasure hunting game tool ready to be used by youth workers in their local community. - Acquired design and development competences required for creating a treasure hunting game from scratch based on a variety of contexts and concepts and young people's needs. - Increased capacity in operating EU/International projects We tackled the needs identified through several perspectives applicable to everyone involved and beyond, a holistic approach taking into consideration all learning needs and objectives with a strong sense of equality for all.
