The project aimed to: 1. create a stable and reliable partnership network for sharing information, expertise, and good practices to successfully integrate youngsters with DCD; 2. increased the capacities of the partner organizations in the field of inclusion; 3. raise public awareness for youngsters with DCD (developmental coordination disorder); 4. map relevant stakeholders in the local communities, and promoted universal rules of social inclusion.
DCD (Developmental Coordination Disorder) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects the coordination and motor skills of individuals. It is crucial to recognize the importance of addressing DCD and breaking down barriers to active participation for youth with this condition. By focusing on the European priority of promoting social inclusion, the project aims to increase knowledge and interest about DCD in our communities and at the European level. Early identification and referral of DCD are key components of the project's approach. By identifying and referring individuals with DCD as early as possible, we can provide timely support and intervention. Early intervention plays a vital role in minimizing the impact of DCD on a young person's life. Through early identification, we can ensure that appropriate resources and strategies are implemented to support their development and overall well-being. Another crucial aspect of the project is the creation of a self-tailored approach for youth with DCD. Recognizing that each individual's experiences and needs may vary, it is essential to provide personalized support. By increasing knowledge and interest about DCD in our communities we can create supportive and safe environments.
