Objectives

First of all, it must be said that thanks to the completion of carefully selected courses, we are now better prepared to fully apply modern pedagogy for the 21st century and thus raise educated individuals with relevant key competencies and soft skills for application and success in the contemporary world. In addition to the application of knowledge in formal teaching, we are also able to develop our area of informal education, specifically, for example, our multimedia center serving students, i.e. the school newspaper and the school podcast. Last but not least, it should be mentioned that thanks to this project we have become interesting partners for the University of Ostrava and we have received offers to participate in the training of future students of pedagogical fields.

Background

1st International School of Ostrava is an international gymnasium that provides high-quality modern education reflecting the needs of today's world. The motivational educational program places high demands on the pupils and requires them to engage all their intellectual effort, creativity, strong will and moral strength. The school perceives its students as persons who will soon fully participate in contributing to a quality life on Earth. The goal of this project was the further education of teaching staff in the area of innovative teaching methods that support creativity. We have chosen the area of creativity in particular because it is the skill of the future. It is the number one skill that business owners look for when hiring new employees, it helps us not only in our work but in life in general. It is a skill that can be learned, developed and applied. Innovative teaching methods supporting intercultural dialogue and cross-subject relationships naturally encourage students to be active citizens and these are the priorities of the 1st International School of Ostrava.
