By implementing this project, we primarily aimed to: * Introducing CLIL into teaching, strengthening the language competencies of "non-language teachers", * Improving the quality of foreign language teaching in both parts of the school, strengthening the language competencies of the language teachers. For the "non-language teachers", the language training was intended to increase their level of foreign language skills, which ranges from B1-B2 among younger colleagues, and thus to ensure a greater number of teachers who will be involved in CLIL teaching and to improve the quality of teaching by integrating foreign language blocks into the teaching of general education subjects. We also want to dispatch these teachers with pupils, for example on foreign excursions, and language teachers are a priority for us. For the language teachers, we wanted to follow new trends, knowledge, procedures, tools and methods for teaching foreign languages based on the experience gained through participation in the courses and thus improve the overall quality of language teaching at both our schools. We offer English, German, and French (further o also other languages) lessons from primary school onwards, and we need to have the most qualified teacher
The Jan Nepomuk Neumann Bishop's Gymnasium in České Budějovice, a Church Primary School and Primary Art School, consists of two main parts. The Gymnasium has a capacity of 720 pupils and the Church Primary School and Primary Art School has a capacity of 630 pupils. In our school, we offer above-standard general education. We want to maintain the rigor of education confirmed by consistent excellent results and prepare our graduates for the next phase of their professional lives. Our school has a reputation for quality foreign language teaching. In addition to English, we have certified teachers of German, Spanish, French, Latin, Italian and Russian. Our staff continuously improve their qualifications by attending various training courses or participating in continuing teacher education projects. In order to maintain the quality of teaching obligatory and non-obligatory language subjects, we strive to cooperate and recruit the best foreign language teachers in the region, also for Primary Schools. Here we offer pupils optional English, German, or French lessons from Year 1 onwards. The teaching of two foreign languages is obligatory from the upper level. However, teachers from the Grammar School must be involved in the teaching.
