Objectives

Participants from the field of Farmer-Farmer focused on animal husbandry during practice on eco-farms. Under the supervision of Italian farmers, they cared for the animals, dealt with the composition of nutrition, monitored environmental factors that affect productivity, stable conditions, types of pastures. They focused on milking techniques, milk and meat processing. Participants from the Horticulturist field completed an internship, the purpose of which was to become familiar with the ecological approach in horticultural fields. We got examples from farmers good practice, know-how that we can also use in our conditions. The participants and their accompanying persons got acquainted with the specifics of the ecological approach and compared them with conventional methods that they know from school and practice in Czech companies. They compared the working conditions in Italy and the Czech Republic, and got a glimpse into the normal operation of organic farms and organic gardening. Professional excursions were prepared for the participants.

Background

Zábřeh Secondary School has a long tradition in the region. The school focuses on the teaching of horticultural and agricultural fields, on the study of pedagogical sciences, focused on social care and humanitarian activities focused on working with socially or physically disabled people, and on the culinary fields of chef - waiter. The school provides secondary education with a matriculation exam and secondary education with a teaching certificate. It also focuses on the education of pupils with specific educational needs and on extension studies. The school has functional partnership relations with the surrounding gastronomic, agricultural and horticultural enterprises, where students carry out professional practice. Our intention was to deepen the cooperation with the Italian school and to build beneficial partnership relations with the eco-farms that we selected for the implementation of mobility. We have acquired partners for the regular placement of our students on foreign internships. We will use the experience of implementing this project for the application for accreditation in autumn 2023.
