By implementing the project, we pursued three goals that we defined in the area of developing key and language competencies of the participants and in the area of acquiring professional skills in their field of study. All three objectives were to contribute to the success of further studies and the future employability of the participants on the labour market. Participation in the project was supposed to give participants the opportunity to be an active part of an international work team, the ability to communicate work procedures and tasks in English, and to gain new expertise and experience in their field.
The intention to contribute to the fulfilment of the needs of our school in the field of developing cooperation with foreign partners, increasing the quality of professional training, deepening contact with current practice in companies, as well as the effort to develop the professional, linguistic and intercultural competences of pupils and students led us to the realization of this project. We also wanted to get new incentives for updating and innovation in the content of English teaching, especially in the field of professional topics and vocabulary in the professional language, and incentives for the development of teaching in professional subjects. Regarding the fact that the majority of employers of our graduates are multinational companies with branches in the Czech Republic, foreign companies or Czech companies doing business abroad, we wanted to develop the professional, language and key competences of our pupils and students and thereby prepare them for work in an international environment.
