Objectives

The implementation of this project brought many positives to students, teachers and school management. Our main motivation for writing the project was related to the main goal of the school, i.e. to help students acquire key and professional competences both on the Czech and foreign labor markets. We wanted the participants to expand their professional and language education thanks to the mobility project, increase their motivation to work in the given field, get to know the real work environment and thus be able to better orient themselves on the labor market. The project had a positive impact not only on the participants, but also on the accompanying teachers and the school as a whole. Mobility participants had the opportunity to work in machine shops. company and in a Spanish school, gain new experience in the field of study, increase your language and communication skills and also get to know the mentality and social norms of people living in Spain. Accompanying pedagogues also got to know the environment of a foreign school, got to know modern technologies at workplaces, and improved their communication skills in a foreign language. Thanks to the project, our school has become more attractive.

Background

At SPŠS Vsetín, we want to expand our offer of professional vocational education, not only to include new Czech companies, but we also want to give students the opportunity to see the work style and technological equipment of foreign companies in the field they are studying. In this context, we decided to send 30 students of the third years of the field 23-41-M/01 Mechanical Engineering for a three-week professional internship in Spain, specifically in the city of Barcelona. The first group of students, consisting of 15 students, traveled in April 2023, the second group of 15 students in May 2023. We cooperated with 2 Spanish schools and an engineering company Mecalo. The internship in a foreign company will give our students the opportunity to get to know the technological or economic background in the Spanish environment, the way they work and last but not least they will also practice everyday communication in English and acquire the basics of the Spanish language with an emphasis on professional terminology, and in many stimulate interest in improving the language or motivate them to study another foreign language.
