We expected the pupils to expand their profes. and lang. competences. They would become aware of the specif. of work in foreign instit. based on their own work during pract. teaching as part of foreign internships. They would subsequently apply the posit. exper. gained in their school practice and future prof. as well. Despite the diffic. of the work within the internships, the pupils met with an exclusiv. positive evaluat. by the mentor in the facilities. Their preparat., their own implement. of work as part of internships and reflection, but above all their enthus. exceeded our expectat. We managed to accompl. everything we had planned. Pupils improved their profes. lang. and social compet. Some obtained a higher lang. level in the repeated OLS lang. asses. after their internships. Practicing teachers from our school were subsequently also satisfied with the results of the internships and the presentations of the pupils/students, in which they presented the facility where they had been on internship not only to the teachers, but also to the pupils of their class/study group in front of the class/group. .
As part of profes. education, our school prepares future teachers and educators for kindergartens, school groups and other school facilities, as well as disciplines at a higher vocational school for pedagogical and social work. In selected facilities (e.g. kindergarten, school club, house of children and youth, etc.) our pupils carry out their pedag. and social practice. We therefore wanted to enable pupils to get to know similarly focused practical facilities abroad. For the first time, this project enabled our pupils to participate in internships in foreign schools and institutions. Our goal was to support the awareness of pupils in the given educational field, to improve their professional and language skills in order to contribute to the long-term development of pupils and our school, which we started by educating teachers in the previous project. Pupils were enthusiastic about the internships. Despite increased efforts (lang. barriers, smaller children, different organization of work, etc.), pupils gained a lot of new skills and experience. They shared their enthusiasm about internships with other pupils by motivating them to follow, and in another project there was an unexpected interest of pupils in foreign internships.
