Objectives

By implementing this project, we wanted to achieve, above all, an increase in awareness of issues related to forced labor, discrimination in workplaces, the kidnapping and abuse of foreign workers, the phenomenon of modern slavery, its historical development, on human rights, labor law, on the dangers posed by illegal work. With this, we wanted to educate young people in these areas using non-formal education methods, taking into account that during the activities we could participate in contact with experts on these topics, such as for example, Federico Zuliani, who, thanks to his experience in South Sudan, had the opportunity to see this phenomenon with his own eyes. However, we also implemented such activities so that the participants could acquire new knowledge especially during the series entertaining simulation games of an inclusive nature. With this, we also wanted to achieve that all young people, and above all our disadvantaged participants, some of whom also faced bad experiences in terms of the above-mentioned phenomena, for example discrimination in the workplace, were able to take into account their rights and view making contracts and employment relationship more carefully so as to to identify fraudulent job offers at an early stage, in order to prevent further aggravation of these problems. Next, we use methods of informal education enabled young people to discuss these issues in more detail within national interactive presentations and workshops and thus come up with new ideas on how to raise awareness of this phenomenon, while we managed to create an international youth network interested in these topics. Also, by implementing the project, we wanted to introduce young people to specific cases of people who faced ethnic discrimination in the workplace or were robbed by their employers, this is how we introduced them to the famous case of Mrs. Natalia-Nitek Płażyńska in Poland, who is still fighting a court case with her employer. It was also our goal to give participants, and especially our disadvantaged participants, in whose environment undeclared work is the norm due to high unemployment, the opportunity to understand the dangers to which they are exposed in such a case, but also to show them the ways in which to counter to fight abuse and discrimination in the workplace legally, which is knowledge that they can apply concretely later on in the labor market. We also wanted to give the participants a chance to get to know new cultures, traditions and make new international friends from the 6 partner countries of the project. Furthermore, we wanted to spread European values and multiculturalism, to fight together against negative social phenomena such as discrimination, xenophobia and racism and to support the self-development of young people and enable them to develop in the area of 8 key competencies. Last but not least, we wanted to improve the awareness of our fellow citizens and their opinion of the European Union, spread information about the Erasmus+ programs and the European Solidarity Corps, to promote a sustainable lifestyle and the "zero waste" concept. Therefore, our goal was also: - to talk to young people about the prevalence of the phenomenon of modern slavery and its consequences - to build a positive attitude towards international teamwork among young people and improve their communication skills - to create international networks of young people and youth organizations that will continue to spread awareness about forced labor and human rights among young people - to allow young people to get to know new cultures, traditions and customs from the 6 partner countries of the project and give young people the opportunity to socialize and meet new international friends - to discuss ways in which the importance of human rights can be introduced to the wider public, including youth in our home communities, in a fun form of play - to give space to people with specific experience in terms of the topic of our project and then continue to spread their information through the media and social networks - to teach our participants how to recognize deceptive job offers and familiarize them with labor law - to spread European values and fight against negative social phenomena, especially against racism, xenophobia and discrimination - to organize campaigns in our communities for human rights and against forced labour - to make the inclusion of disadvantaged youth possible, empower these disadvantaged youth to join the project and meet new friends - to increase the visibility of our region in Europe and economically support local entrepreneurs - to promote the Erasmus+ programs and the European Solidarity Corps
