The most significant findings make it crystal clear what we want to accomplish with this project: 1. The young people from the partner communities lacked the knowledge necessary to identify solutions to environmental issues in their nations. The young people understood there were issues and that they needed to be addressed, but they did not understand their specific roles or methods of participation. WE WANTED TO ACHIEVE ACTIVATING YOUTH AND ALLOWING THEM TO TAKE ACTION ALONE TO HELP IMPROVE THE ECOLOGICAL SITUATION IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITIES; 2. Because the majority of young people lacked a good understanding of the kind of environmental issues that existed in their nations, WE WANTED TO ACHIEVE through this project that the young people increased their awareness of particular issues in their own communities; 3. By this project, we also aimed to foster young people's feeling of initiative by encouraging networking amongst youth from other communities and creating future initiatives; 4. Raising knowledge about Erasmus+, particularly for those coming from Erasmus+ partner countries, was one of the primary things WE WANTED TO Accomplish; In addition to young people involved in or/and interested in activities which are connected to environmental issues, as well as those who had ideas and were willing to participate in solving environmental problems in their countries, this project brought together young people from different countries, with different social backgrounds, who are interested in ecology, ecological problems, air/water and other kinds of pollution, and the protection of the environment. The main goal of the project was: to raise awareness among the youth from EU and non-EU countries, to exchange knowledge, skills, and experiences about environmental problems, to transmit the newly obtained skills and knowledge in their home countries, and to share ideas on how to protect our nature, our health, and how to reduce pollution. The specific objectives of the YE were: - To provide participants with the necessary skills, knowledge and attitudes on empowerment of young people in activities which were connected to environmental issues; - To show youngsters that individual efforts can make positive changes; - To find ways about how to solve environmental problems in each country through the development the social initiatives/projects on local and international level; - To increase the awareness about environmental pollution and its effect on our health; - To empower young people in taking personal responsibility in their countries and participating in decision-making processes regarding the protection of the environment. We do believe that this youth exchange project was also a good response to the Erasmus+ priority on European citizenship awareness of environmental protection, including energy savings and renewable energy.
