‘’stART ACTing’’ Erasmus+ mobility of young people had the mission to forge an emotional bond between young people and nature, to let young people discover outdoor education and adventure-based learning to develop their competencies and apply in practice, to raise awareness on environmental issues and well-being by means of outdoor activities and art based on non-formal education methodology. The special countries chosen for the collaboration in environmental awareness and outdoor education were Portugal, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkiye, Italy, and Czech Republic. Although these countries have taken many measures to solve this problem, they still suffer from the impacts of climate change, global warming, including the severe forms of air, land and water pollution. Therefore, there is a strong need to decrease these effects by the help of different tools such as education, communication, collaboration and discursive power. Activities during the project were planned to understand the environmental issue in participating countries, what is outdoor education and how it is useful in non-formal education, and to create an emotional bond between young people and nature in order to explore outdoor life by living in outdoor. Activities were used by means of outdoor education tools and art methodologies. The project focused on the art, outdoor and non-formal education in raising environmental awareness and discovering outdoor life. The non-formal education part allowed participants to gain the knowledge, values, attitudes, commitment, and skills needed to protect and improve the environment within the different workshops on global warming, greenhouse gases and climate change. This part encouraged the participants to work together towards a more sustainable future through raising awareness and using art about how the natural environment functions, and how humans can manage their behavior to be more environment-friendly. Art part enabled participants to develop confidence and communication skills through theatre, art and dance for conveying the message of protecting the Earth to the audience. Furthermore, participants got practical information on the implementation of the Erasmus + projects and be able to realize follow up activities. This project prepared participants to be an active citizen which led to having an impact and change of everyday habits and activities. The project encouraged participants to keep in touch and seek for opportunities for future cooperation and building new project ideas and outcomes and strengthening the connection among their countries on environmental issues and outdoor education. The project provided tools for each project participant to support the solution of environmental problems in their future private and professional lives. Moreover, the project promoted inclusion, cultural diversity and tolerance among the participants. Participants had an opportunity to improve their understanding of outdoor education and nature, to feel connected and respect to the nature life. Art part of the project allowed participants to develop their designing, planning, creativity, experiential learning, and innovative thinking, empowered with tools and methodologies on outdoor education, non-formal education, and art approach, and they were encouraged to become young activists and apply acquired skills and knowledge on local level. Apart from experiential learning, participants were exchanging culture between each other and with local people, were reflecting on their learning outcomes, and became aware of cultural differences and eventually become a world citizen. Working in teams allowed participants to improve their co-operation and team-working skills, as well as creating a competitive environment through competitions in different topics of environment. The youth exchange involved different games, case studies, forum theatre, simulation actions, think outside of box exercises, hiking, planting, cooking and other activities. The key objectives of the project were as following: - to experience various outdoor methods and techniques and reflect on ways of incorporating these methods and techniques into the practice in daily life - to raise awareness on environmental issues and ecosystem protection - to provide a better understanding of the concept of a sustainable environment - to contribute to the achievement of environmental targets, supporting environmental policies in the European Union - to ensure that young people are more intertwined with nature - to increase knowledge of the participants on Erasmus+, to support creating new project ideas based on using outdoor methods and techniques and promote networking and cooperation - to stimulate non-formal learning and outdoor education - to promote cultural awareness, tolerance and solidarity between countries - to inspire the young generation to take challenges and initiatives towards well-being of oneself and the environment
