YV is a unique training course for youth workers that combines voice training, as often used in public speaking and theatre training, with specific creative uses of voice techniques for working with young people and with practical capacitation of new strategies to be used in youth work. Our aim is to give participants space and tools to explore and experience voice techniques and tools in order to apply them in their own context and support their target groups. We will create different learning processes, founded on the principles of - among others - body and voice awareness, voice expression, theatre and storytelling. The activities will be based on non-formal and experiential learning methodologies with a participant centered approach. The specific focus on youth workers working directly with LGBT+ young people aims to address the need of all partner organizations to diversify strategies to solve actual social exclusion and discrimination issues with the participants target groups, beyond the mere online campaigning. This project also responds to our partners' need to find approaches for working with LGBT+ young people that are more holistic, focused more on body and less on mind or activities that can be seen as intellectual. Out of this need, we, together with partner organizations, defined the objectives of the training course: 1. We expect that all the involved parties will learn and develop innovative approaches and methods for their daily work, how to organise learning, as well as encourage various social initiatives and social change within their communities. 2. Participants will increase abilities to use their voice more efficiently and creatively, and also learn various voice and sound based learning methods that are suitable for work with LGBT+ young people, focussing on the development of young people’s creative abilities, confidence, communication skills and self-awareness. 3. Thanks to this project participants will also improve their language abilities, intercultural cooperation and communication skills, developing their professional network on an international level and thus increase their abilities to work or organize civic initiatives on European level.
