The South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences has been participating in the ERASMUS+ programme and its predecessors for more than 30 years. It considers the programme to be an excellent opportunity to offer students and members of the university the experience of a stay abroad and, by participating in the programme, pursues the goal of strengthening the internationalization of studies and teaching as a whole at the institution. The number of participants rose steadily until the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, but in 2020 the numbers fell accordingly; an extension of the project to 36 months could not bring about any significant changes. Since sufficient funds were still available in the 2020 project at the time of the application for funds for 2021, no funds were applied for in 2021 for the student mobility for study.
