Erasmus+ is a firmly established programme to support international mobility at the University of Passau. A stay abroad is compulsory in several degree programmes, with the majority of students choosing European partner universities/internship institutions. In addition, double degree programmes lead to compulsory mobilities within Europe. The offer of subject-specific foreign language training motivates students to go abroad outside of a compulsory mobility programme. The core objectives of the new university agreement between the University of Passau and the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts are internationalisation and Europe. The Vice President for International Affairs and Diversity is focussing on topics such as European University, partnerships and Europe. As many students need financial support to realise their study/internship abroad, this should be made possible through the mobility grant and the tuition fee waiver within the framework of Erasmus+. The financial support via Erasmus+ is also intended to create additional incentives for mobilities in other European countries and for Passau employees to gain international experience.
