Objectives

With more than 160 partnerships worldwide (80 Erasmus partner universities), bachelor’s and master’s programmes conducted in English, and approximately 1500 international students from over 90 countries, the Technische Hochschule Nürnberg is among the internationally oriented higher education institutions in Southern Germany. One of the strategic aims is to raise the international profile and to facilitate international experiences for all university members. The Erasmus programme plays a central role in meeting this goal. It enables all students to pursue practical and/or study semesters abroad that will be transferable towards their degree. In return, all measures, that lead to students from partner universities or international organisations being fully satisfied with their stay and learning experience at our university, are supported. The curricula and teaching also benefit over the long-term from Erasmus measures. Faculty, who have gone abroad, return with new international and specialist experiences which are integrated into the curricula and classroom at the university. In all of the activities, the goals set out for the European Education Area and the renewed EU agenda for higher education are considered and realised.
