The central feature of our university is its dual study concept; in the alternating theoretical and practical phases, students acquire practical experience as well as practical and social skills in addition to specialist and methodological knowledge. Theoretical and practical content is closely interlinked and incorporates current developments in business and society into the curriculum. We want to achieve a synergy effect in student mobility: the students not only bring their international experience and knowledge back to the classroom, but also to their companies, the dual partners. We aim to increase the mobility of our students, taking into account the sustainability strategy as a university-wide and interdisciplinary joint task and the promotion of diversity and equal opportunities. Staff mobility is intended to promote intensive exchange and the development of joint study programmes, supported by our opportunities as a "European university". Educational research at DHBW Heilbronn accompanies our internationalisation strategy in the areas of digitalisation, e-learning and micro-credentials, systems research and transfer of the dual study model.
