The BTU has been participating in the ERASMUS+ programme for more than 25 years in order to promote the development of partnerships with institutions that are an excellent match for its teaching and research profile and to encourage the exchange of students, lecturers and university staff abroad. It is regarded as a significant component of the university's own internationalisation strategy and the driving force behind the internationalisation process. The basis of all ERASMUS+ activities carried out are very well-functioning specialised collaborations with partner universities. As part of their exchanges, students should not only familiarise themselves with new teaching and working methods and develop their specialist knowledge, but also develop linguistic and intercultural skills. The aim of holding courses at the partner universities was to strengthen the internationalisation of studies and teaching, exchange innovative teaching content and methods and expand the network, which is important for academics, in order to increase opportunities for transnational teaching/research activities. The exchange for further education/training purposes aimed to increase participants' skills and improve work processes.
