Erasmus+ is one of the most important programmes for continuously supporting and developing the internationalisation of LMU. Over the years, LMU has been able to build up a multi-layered international network through the various Erasmus+ funding tools and use it to promote the mobility of students, teaching staff and staff on a broad scale. The aim of the 2021 project was to consolidate the collaborations, increase the number of mobile participants overall and make the best possible use of the budget. Overall, the number of participants in the 2021 project has decreased in purely numerical terms, but this is due to the fact that the participants were not funded exclusively from one project year due to the longer duration of the Erasmus+ projects, as was the case in the old Erasmus generation. The Erasmus+ student cohort in the 2021/22 academic year covered 1.009 students in SMS and 114 students in SMP. Overall, there is an increasing demand for Erasmus+ stays abroad in all areas.
